BAPCo RELEASES EEcoMark(TM) v1 - BAPCo debuts the first tool to automate the measurement of power in accordance with ENERGY STAR Program Requirements v4 and v5.

EEcoMark(TM) v1 is a tool for evaluating compliance with energy regulation specifications. It is the first tool to automate the measurement of power in accordance with ENERGY STAR Program Requirements v4 and v5 and was released today by the Business Application Performance Corporation or BAPCo, a non-profit consortium of leading computer industry publications, independent testing labs, PC hardware manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers and software publishers.

EEcoMark is the newest addition to join BAPCo's product lineup alongside SYSmark and MobileMark which have been widely accepted by IT Managers, PC OEMs, press and analysts worldwide.

EEcoMark v1 automates the measurement of power during idle, sleep and off states in accordance with ENERGY STAR Program Requirements both v4 and v5 and thereby assists in classifying the system according to ENERGY STAR category definitions.

Supporting both high-accuracy and low-cost power meter options, EEcoMark increases lab productivity as well as reducing the opportunity for human error and improving consistency.

This release incorporates numerous new features and enhancements such as an easy-to-use graphical interface for running tests and reviewing results with the saving of results directly to PDF format.

BAPCo's EEcoMark v1 supports Windows Vista with SP1 and Windows XP (Professional and Home) with service pack 3.
